Computer Video Camera Security System
Info 4/16 camera Computer Video Security Systems
#1 The Computer is the heart of the system. $800
The Computer is control, automate, process, and storage of information.
#2 Security recommends a deterrent remote monitor. $200
However remote monitor shows where is and is not protected.
The monitor divided by 16 images you get thumbnails.
Most Computers and monitors will work fine.
Existing computers will function up to 4 cameras.
More cameras, more computer power, more storage, bigger monitor.
#3 Video wire, power wire, audio wire, camera power supply, camera mounts,
Monitor mount, fittings, couplings, modem/router, surge protection
Remote monitor cable, internet cable, microphone, external hard drive $250
#4 The complicated security programs are mostly the same.
All are too complicated and lots of BS average $200

Look for your needs to be met almost all have

* Motion detection recording & alarm
* Automatic email alarm notification
* Automatic recording schedules
* Auto-Tracking
* Remote control & monitoring
* Dual monitor display
* Multi-Drive recording
* Missing object
* Foreign object
* Expandable is often misleading
* Time & Date
* User & Event Logs
All have 20 ways to say the same shit over and over again
#4 The system backbone is the video cards
You need to know real frames/second/camera
How many pictures per second per camera
Smooth gotchya or Choppy missed the good shots
30 is good, 15 poor, and 7.5 blurry forgetaboutit
Usually 4 or 8 video computer processors per card
Standard is 4, 6 OK, 8 is too many wires per board
4zone/15fps/camera acceptable low quality $200ea
4zone/30fps/camera reliable good quality $250ea
Very deceiving caution with interpretation of fps

#5 The eyes and ears of the system is the cameras & audio.
Cameras are usually with color & night vision.
Only you know where to see and that’s the key.
Internet is connected to home PC monitor and control.
Live audio/video monitoring from your cell phone
Cameras cost $100 x 16 = $1600.
Keep your eye on Mega-pixels, range, and video format.
Mug shots range 10 to 25 feet.
Mega-pixels are deceiving so check with following link
http://web.forret.com/tools/megapixel.asp?width=704&height=480
The frames per second per camera and camera mega-pixels should match.
Mug shots range 10 to 25 feet and range is limited to weakest link.
Video Camera Extras
Wireless mini concealed remote +50
Hidden with password protected zone +20
Exterior for parking areas +30
Wide angle and long range +40

#6 Where do you want the audio microphones?
If you have to cut cost
Go with less zones and add what you need -$1000
Caution keep it upgradeable and remember upgradeable is a vague term
More cameras, more computer power, more storage, bigger monitor
Black and white times 16 can save - 400
Excellent 16 zone Computer Video Camera Security System
Equipment sold separately $4000
Computer $800
Extra 24 in B/W monitor $150
Software $200
Hardwirewareextras $200
4each 30fps/c Video cards $1000
16each 3 mega-pixel Cameras $1600
Mug shots 25 feet night 15 feet
Kits are cheaper keep in mind they are never complete.
A good start search for kit system information

Keep your eye on frames per second per camera, camera Mega-pixels, and video format
Do some research, get what you need, and save money.
Is the external hard drive going to be in a safe?
Or do they get to steal the evidence too?
How many cameras do you want, need, really need?
Next time you are at the 7 11 store check and see what you like.
Take some pictures with your cell phone for coverage ideas.
Only you know the area to cover with video, audio, and hidden.
Do you need night vision Cameras?
Do you want to add dummy cameras?
Do you want to cover the entrance doors the back room?
Do you want to cover the registers?
Picking a central location for the computer
That saves wire and time.
Try to use the drop-ceiling tile camera mounts.

Update
I found some information on Costco Video Network Security
http://www.costco.com/
$799.99 after $600 OFF
Q-See
16 Channel H.264
Network Security DVR
Real-time Recording
16 CCD Color Cameras
Item # 501488
I checked out the fine print on this unbelievably too good to be true system.
Amongst all the rhetoric, hoopla, and bull crap I found this.
CIF Real-time recording option for smooth video playback: 30 FPS per channel (480 FPS total), Playback resolution: 352x240.
30 FPS per channel times 16 channels (480 FPS total) would be a perfect slam dunk.
However at 352x240 postage stamp size thumbnail frames now that is very misleading.
D1 Recording option for a larger video image size is 7.5 FPS per channel (120 FPS total), Playback resolution: 704x480,
7.5 FPS appears to be the true quantitative quality not 30 FPS.
This could be a new high in how low can you go.
Also monitor VGA Resolution: 1280x1024 excellent.
Camera specs and resolution are conspicuously avoided.
By the way you can get over 200 MPG by adding one of my magic pills to each tank of gasoline.
Results may vary depending on type of cargo plane and deployment altitude.
Just say no.
Unless you can hook up a camera, test it out for quality, and in disappointment return it free of charge.
